This kit is based almost 100% on the original blueprints. It features a complete four-tube torpedo assembly from start to finish, the trim and bilge piping, and air tanks just as they appear in the real submarine—along with an accurate lower pressure hull section and its torpedo storage.
While you might not have seen a green linoleum floor like this in old photographs, it is authentically accurate to the original. If you wish, you can leave a few floor hatches open—for example, if you want to create a torpedo loading diorama. The torpedo loading and heating equipment are also included in the kit. When painting the kit, keep in mind that the floor gratings in front of the torpedo tubes were made of wood.
Different variations are available for the crew bunks. The bunks can be folded up against the wall to save space—clearing the area for tasks like Torpedo handling. The kit does not include torpedoes.
Modifications to the original base kit may be required for a proper fit.
