The kit includes a new lower pressure hull section featuring all 62 battery cells of battery room no. 2, as well as the battery exhaust and ventilation piping system. The trim and bilge piping following the original blueprints.
Under the floor of battery room no. 2, you will also find the ammunition magazine, waste water and wash water tanks. The S-Gerät sonar system envisioned for the central shaft was frequently omitted from the finished boats, meaning the space ended up being used exclusively for crew storage. Just like in battery room no. 1, this space also features an overhead maintenance trolley, allowing a sailor to service the cells while lying on his stomach.
The kit includes the missing bunks and lockers for the crew quarters, as well as the storage room and an accurate toilet bowl.
Modifications to the original base kit may be required for a proper fit.
